Prior to the flood of 1972, a one-span steel truss bridge carried SR 4001 across Little Pine Creek in
Cummings Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. After the flood waters carried the
steel bridge away, PennDOT replaced that bridge with a three-span concrete bridge on an
improved alignment with complimentary aesthetic treatments.
